Overview
After federating a selected Entra domain to TraitWare, new users are added via the TraitWare console. It is a quick process to add new users and onboard them to TraitWare.
Prerequisites
- User Sync configured in TraitWare
- Entra ID domain federated to TraitWare
Overview of Steps to add New User
- Add a user in the TraitWare console
- Add the user to a sync group in Entra ID
- Allow the user to sync to TraitWare
- Onboard the new user to the TraitWare mobile app
Adding a User
Log in to the TraitWare Admin console and click the Users menu item under the Users category. A list of current users is displayed.
Click the + icon at the top of the Users page.
Fill out the Create User form and click Submit. The Microsoft section at the bottom will be checked by default. This indicates that a new user will be created in the Entra ID tenant. (The new user will not appear in the TraitWare console at this point. This is expected behavior until the user syncs to TraitWare in a later step.)
Note: when the TraitWare User Sync is configured, the option to create users in Entra ID becomes active. New user emails must have a domain that matches a domain on the Microsoft tenant being used. To add a user to TraitWare without adding them to Entra, simply uncheck the box. This type of user will not have any connections to Entra ID.
Add User to Entra Sync Group
Once the user has been added to Entra ID via the TraitWare console, navigate to the entra.microsoft.com portal and click on Groups>All groups. The list of available groups will be presented.
Select the group used to sync users to TraitWare. If there is more than one group used to sync users, select the preferred group to add the user.
Click + Add members to add the new user to the sync group.
Select the new user and click Select.
The new user will now appear in the group. Click the Refresh button if the user does not appear immediately.
The user will now sync to the TraitWare console. The sync process can take up to 5 minutes.
Return to TraitWare Console (Onboard User)
After the user appears in the user list in the TraitWare console, set their application permissions and onboard them to the TraitWare mobile application.
See Registering a User for more information.
