Overview

The TraitWare Endpoint Agent can be easily deployed to machines managed by Intune. There are only two steps to deploy the agent.

  • Upload the TraitWare Endpoint Agent MSI to Intune
  • Set distribution policies in Intune

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Prerequisites

Users must have an Intune license. Several Microsoft plans offer Intune licenses. See Intune Licensing for the latest offerings.

To register users on the Windows Protected Endpoint post-deployment

  • Entra ID users - the machine must be joined to a domain to register and log in using an Entra ID user.
  • Local users - a local account must already exist on the machine to register a local user.

Set Up Deployment

Navigate to intune.microsoft.com.

Click on Apps and then select Windows.

Click Create.

In the dropdown select Line-of-business app.

 Click Select.

Click Select app package file.

Click on the folder icon.

Select the TraitWare Installer MSI file. Note: it may have a different name than what appears here.

The file will appear in App package file. Click OK.

Name the application and add a Publisher name. The other settings may be left alone.

Optionally choose Select image to add an icon. Select the icon.

The selected icon file will appear in the Logo field.

Click Next.

Choose to add a group, all users, or all devices.  The TraitWare Endpoint agent can be deployed as a Required deployment or optional as Available to enrolled devices. The example below will show adding a group in the Required section. Note: machines and users may be added to groups to manage the deployment.

Select the group where the TraitWare Agent will be deployed and click Select.  The example group includes only machines.

The selected group(s) appear in the Required section. Click Next.

Review the final confirmation screen and click Create.

The TraitWare Authentication application will now appear in the Apps list.

Deployment and Sync

Intune will automatically sync the TraitWare Endpoint agent to the selected machines and users from the above steps. The time it takes Intune to run a sync can vary depending on many factors.  Often, a restart of the machine will initiate a sync. A sync can also be triggered manually by device or across multiple devices.

Bulk Device Sync

Navigate to Devices>Windows. Click Bulk device actions

Select Windows, Physical devices, and Sync from the dropdown menus. Click Next at the bottom of the screen (not pictured).

Confirm the devices to sync. Click Next.

Review all settings and click Create.

Note: it may take time to sync to the user devices. A restart of the devices may prompt the sync to happen faster.

Single Device Sync

Navigate to Devices and Windows. Select a single device from the list of devices to sync.

Select Sync.

Select Yes to initiate the sync to the single device.

Note: it may take time to sync to the user device. A restart of the device may prompt the sync to happen faster.
